What is Not Just a Getaway?
Not Just a Getaway is the result of two women recognizing the importance of taking time for themselves in order to reflect, refresh, and renew. For them, getting away was the perfect way to maintain balance and mental clarity which in turn benefited their families. Each getaway allowed them to create experiences filled with adventure, self-discovery and personal growth. They found that their key to happiness was investing in these life experiences so they decided to put their love of travel to work and empower other women to take time out for themselves.
What is the general age on the tours?
There is no general age group on our tours. Our getaways are about a shared passion for travel and life. Travelers are single, married, empty-nesters, professionals; a mix of solo travelers, girlfriends, mothers and daughters, sisters, co-workers - and many more!
Do you have to be a particular level of fitness?
Our tours are designed for women of all ages and fitness levels. However at times you should be able to walk for a reasonable length of time, and be able to walk up steps and over uneven surfaces.
What happens if minimum numbers aren't reached for a tour to depart?
If minimum number requirements are not achieved, then we will offer the option to those booked to re-cost the itinerary based on the number traveling and decide from there. If the tour does not proceed we will give you plenty of notice and refund your deposit in full.
Can I extend my tour beyond the provided dates?
Not Just a Getaway can provide rates at the hotels, additional excursions and recommendations should you decide to extend once we finish our tour We can work together on an extended itinerary to suit your budget.
Do you provide travel quotes?
Yes, we provide quotes for groups of 10 or more. A deposit is required, and the amount of deposit is dependent on travel itinerary and will go to your personal travel invoice. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Is Not Just a Getaway just for women?
Not Just a Getaway focuses on women and those they love. We cater to anyone looking to travel. Our ideal clients tend to be the professional man or woman that would like to step away from their day-to-day reality and see the world.
Can I make reservations on an event after the payments have begun?
Yes, you can make reservations on any event after the payments have started. You will need to make the first deposit and then every month make monthly payments. If you want to reserve 45 days prior to final payment deadline, full payment will be required.
What happens after I make my reservations?
Once you make your reservations, you will receive an email notification that your reservation has been completed.
After I make my first reservation, how do I make monthly payments?
You can make monthly payments through PayPal or by bank deposit, cashiers check, or money order. We will send monthly invoices to show remaining balance. In very limited situations, we can take a payment over the phone.
Do you provide roommate matching?
Yes, we can arrange for roommate matching on select travel packages.
If I am sharing with a ‘travel buddy’ and we don’t get along or if there is another issue, what happens?
If you decide to move to another room during the tour due to a personality difference, then the price difference will need to be paid at the time, based on the rates available from the hotels/suppliers. This will be at your own cost. If for example there is an issue due to something like snoring, then the other person will have to pay the difference. There is an etiquette for sharing with someone you don't know and things such as if you know you snore, continued mobile phone usage during sleeping hours, tidiness etc., should be taken into account if you choose the 'travel buddy' option.
What happens if my roommate drops out and cancel their reservations?
If your roommate cancels their reservations, your account will be adjusted to the package price according to the new occupancy in your in room.
When will I receive the itinerary for my trip?
Final Itineraries are sent to each client at least 2-4 weeks before the event via email.
How can I request a name change or change my roommate for my upcoming trip?
Changes usually can be made to your reservations. Please review each trip’s policies for specific guidelines.
What payments do you accept?
For group events, we accept online payments using Paypal, Visa, Mastercard and Discover or mail-in payments which includes money orders and certified checks, or direct deposit. Please note personal checks will not be accepted 60 days before event to commence. For credit cards and debit cards, there is a 2.9% fee
Do you provide refunds?
No, we do not provide refunds nor do we transfer money. Each client is required to accept our Terms and Conditions before reservations is accepted.
Do I have to make a monthly payment each month?
Payment is required every month due to obligations we have with vendors we are working with. If you find yourself not being able to make a payment, please send us an email. If you fail to make a payment for 60 days without any communication to us, your reservations will automatically cancel.
What happens if I make my payments, but my roommates fails to pay?
You will be responsible for finding a new roommate or you must pay the additional cost for the room occupancy change.
